ATR - Day 53

Progress at last! My CAM boot is finally down to zero degrees and it feels so much easier to move around. I have been given permission to put more weight on my foot, as much as is possible without feeling pain. The physio therapy has been great and my foot has become much more flexible. However, I'm still a little concerned about the incision, which is still oozing and hasn't completely healed, so I'm keeping it bandaged with liberal applications of antibiotic gel.

This weekend I became more confident and started walking with one crutch! I consider this a huge milestone and discovered that if I wear my "Dansko" clog on the other foot, I can walk more naturally without a limp. I'm really going to practice as much as I can this week because Rick and I have tickets for the Eagles concert at Gillette Stadium on Saturday. I hope I don't get knocked over with all those people or injure my foot from dancing to the music .....

So what have I been with myself over the past couple of weeks? I've been thinking about documenting the books/audio books I've read since my surgery, so in case you're interested...
  • Backstage with Julia (Child) - Nancy Verde Barr
  • Death of a Witch - M. C. Beaton
  • Year of the Flood - Margaret Attwood
  • Breaking Dawn - Stephanie Meyers
  • Pillars of the Earth - Ken Follett
  • Body of Death - Elizabeth George
  • The story of Edgar Sawtelle - David Wroblewski
  • Dead until Dark - Charlaine Harris
To prove how eclectic my reading list is - I'm looking forward to the new Phillipa Gregory novel (The White Queen) which is in transit from the library, but I'm listening to book 2 of the "Sookie Stackhouse" series by C. Harris on my Ipod. Historical drama and vampire fiction, weird! In case you haven't heard about these books, it's about a barmaid who is also a telepath and dates a vampire....

If you're reading a great book or have a recommendation, I'd love to hear from you.
